Your role will be to promote and support a person’s recovery and enabling them to have more involvement and control over their condition. You will also build effective relationships with people who use our services, and their relatives and carers. You might help one person to take their medication correctly while advising another about relevant therapies or social activities. Mental health nurses are usually based in hospitals or in the community, as this is where the majority of our mental health services are offered. If you work in an in-patient setting, you may do shifts and provide 24-hour care.
As one of the UK’s leading mental health trusts in education and healthcare, our focus is on developing the nursing leaders of the future. We offer strong support networks for preceptorship, mentorship and professional development so that you get the very best from your career with us.
Do you know someone who is keen to resume their nursing career after a break? We would like to hear from them?
